Well, I have been busy bullshitting the other "crowd."

You know (well w.t. does), those long winded exercises in pompous deliberation. Been some good exchanges, though.

I started this Song of the Moment thing there. I stole the idea from another band's forum. So far, I've riffed on Brown Eyed Women, Box of Rain, Sugar Magnolia, Crazy Fingers, and--SDH will love this--that copper-domed bhodi tune.

I took SDH's cue--that song is pure acid gibberish, though it has it's antecedents in Lewis Carroll, S.T. Coleridge, and John Lennon.

Kinda fun.

SDH--My (your?) generation was so fervent about peace that we had no room to accept those who served as heroes--men and women doing their duty no matter how wrong the politics may have been. We took the isolated instances of atrocities and blanketed the whole war with them. meanwhile, the troops were subjected to the harshest conditions in which they could not always tell who the enemy was (sound familiar?).

We sucked. We didn't open our arms when they returned. We spat on them, ignored those crippled, treated them as evil beings, finished them off.

We sucked.

That won't happen again. I have always been anti war as a solution to anything, and I find this war to have been ill conceived (what the fuck did they think would happen?). The current civil war places our men and women in a danger that they cannot stop or defend against.

Bush sucks. But we won't. When you see a vet, shake his hand, dammit.

I guess you had me figured before NC did! Yeah, I always wanted one of those smoking jackets and a roaring fire, but I can't earn my chops writin' around here I suppose. Well, on second thought, it's the only writing gig I got at the moment.

In any case, haven't been over there for a bit (hook)--just easier to drop in here. Never got the hang of it in terms of straight up conversation.

Hope you're doing well...

Damn--that little banana guy makes me want to return. You had to remind me, didn't you?

Hope huntr, Dire and DB and the rest of the gang over there are doing well. Keep the faith with letting them know how much they are missing from the best of the best yrs (why, 68 thru 70 of course) with your firsthand observations...
